More and more municipalities are using chloramine for water treatment instead of chlorine. Standard carbon block filters only treats for chlorine and will allow ammonia and other impurities to reach your RO membrane and possibly your aquarium. The IceCap 2-Stage Carbon Block Filter (IC-RI-CT100C) is a chloramine-removal cartridge. It will remove chloramines and ensure your aquarium receives the purest water possible.
- This Carbon Block Filter should be used as the second stage filter after the sediment filter..
- Removes organics and chlorine from the feed water that can damage the membrane.
- If you are unsure about chloramine use in your water, you can request further information from your local city hall or water treatment center.
- Before use, place the cartridge in the appropriate housing and flush for a minimum of 10-15 minutes prior to use.
