The Lifegard Aquatics HOF-40 Hang on Filter, 40 Gallons, has FOUR three-stage mechanical filter cartridges. Ideal for freshwater or saltwater aquariums. The surface skimmer removes floating debris (such as uneaten food) and oil. The top control system knob lets you slow down the water output, creating a gentle flow to protect delicate fish and plants. These filters are slim and can be closer to the wall than competing filters.
  • For aquariums up to 40 gallons
  • 160 gph flow rate
  • FOUR Cartridges. Each cartridge has three stage mechanical filtration in one cartridge: Stage 1 – 40 micron removable sponge; Stage 2 – activated carbon; and Stage 3 – 20 micron filter pad.
  • Included floating surface skimmer will remove oil and uneaten food from the surface of the aquarium
  • Top control to slow down flow to protect delicate fish & plants
